This question is kind of out there so if I’m in the wrong place, point me in the right direction.

I just started watching The Walking Dead (I know late to the party) and was wondering how you would be able spiritually nourish yourself in such a situation. I’m only about halfway through season 1 and I have heard no mention of religion or faith, which is fine, I’m pleasantly surprised when Hollywood mentions religion positively but expect nothing. I’m just trying to think how I would live such a life.

Forget about the cause of the apocalypse, you are without a priest, surrounded by non-religious people, and just trying to survive. No communion or confession since there is no priest and forget about lent, good luck figuring out what day it is. Holy days of obligation? Good luck again. I mean could I make myself a priest in that situation? I feel like that’s not how it works. I understand the faith that God would preserve the Church but I don’t live in Italy. There are a lot of us so I understand that its highly unlikely ZERO priests make it in my region but let’s think worst case. Do I just wait and pray that God let’s me receive communion or have confession? I guess the silver lining is suffering brings us closer to God so in an apocalypse we would be basically as close as possible…
