Hello, quote from this Protestant website designed to equip women evangelists: “shespeaksconference.com

"She Speaks : (Speakers Track) Whether you feel led to speak in a large arena or lead Bible studies in your church, you will be equipped with the tools you need to effectively share your message, create a bio sheet, market your ministry, and jazz up your presentation.

She Writes : (Writers Track) Learn everything from basic writing guidelines to preparing an article or manuscript for submission, and everything in between. In addition, you will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with some of the top editors, publishers, and literary agents in the Christian market.

She Leads : (Women’s Ministry Track) This track is specifically designed for women’s ministry directors and facilitators. Learn creative ways to reach your community, organize small groups, select a team of volunteers, plan successful events, and network with other directors."

Does anybody know of any similar Catholic conference/seminar?
Thanks in advance!

Comments: I’ve been speaking in public for 2 years with no training besides praying the rosary and reading Scriptures. I’ve been writing for years and would like to get some articles and a book published but I don’t know where to start. Not that I have had private revelations but I would like to add my 2 cents perspective on moral issues.

“she speaks conference” sounds like a good training course for speaking in public and writing books but to my taste it lacks humility on top of not being Catholic. Any suggestions?

If your informal “training” has been adequate so far, I see no reason to change it. Get opinions of others who have seen you speak and read your writings.

If you do find a need for improvement, this conference may help so long as it is not anti-Catholic. You might also look into Toastmasters (a secular organization that helps people develop speaking and leadership skills - their purpose is to critique and improve the skill, not the message).

There is an abundance of resources on the web to aid you in getting published for a Catholic/Christian/Secular readership. If you’re really serious about publishing, take the time to research manuscript preparation, marketing to the appropriate publisher or agent and contract law for writers. Just “wanting to” do it isn’t enough – to be a professional writer and to get published, you have to know the technicalities. The good news is, it’s all out there to learn. You can start with your local library for free. Good luck.
