I was gifted a copy of the 1967 edition of St. Augustine’s Prayer Book back before I was received into the Church and I’ve been using it everyday for the last two and a half years. For anyone not familiar it is an Ango-Catholic prayer book produced by an Anglican Benedictine order that is in effect an all-in-one devotional. It covers the mass, Holy Hour, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, Stations of the Cross, examination of conscience, sacrament of reconciliation, baptism, spiritual communion, novenas, litanies, rosary, prayers that correspond to the liturgy of the hours, prayers for the sick, deliverance prayers, etc.
I know several priest and religious that use it and I’ve been told it’s an acceptable and valuable resource for Catholics so I’ll continue using it. I have found it lacking in a few ways though. Mostly in a number of the prayers not lining up exactly with Catholic translations / wording (obviously due to age and being based on an Anglican liturgy). So my question is if there are any Catholic prayer books of a similar nature? Ones that are small enough to carry around for daily use and cover most any situation and need.
