Is there a Catholic-friendly alternative to yoga that is particularly good at calming onself?

Perhaps there are recommendations on all of the other Yoga threads. Use the search feature…

Pilates? It’s more physically intense, but doesn’t have a spiritual component.

I do yoga exercises occasionally in my own home. I don’t trust yoga studios. I do it strictly for the physical benefits of stretching and posture building exercises.

Pick up Fr Phillipe’s book “Time For God” to learn about contemplative prayer.

As for programs,

https://soulcore.com/

https://pietrafitness.com/
This! There might be another rare one out there, but these two are the two top programs and are highly respected by highly respected members of Church (both lay and clergy).

There are even some parishes that are starting to offer one of these programs inside the parish.

Then you should try Soul Core and/or Pietra Fitness. 🙂

Walking. No special programs. I really enjoyed and enjoy walking. Some basic stretching exercises by my desk at work fills the bill.
