Catholic Historians: Intercessions in Medieval Battles?

I’m doing some reading on saintly intercession being asked for in medieval battles. I know about the Battle of Lepanto and about Robert the Bruce carrying the relics of both St. Fillan and St. Columbine to the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314, and stories of miraculous occurences in that instance. But despite numerous google searches, I’m having trouble finding any other specific stories.

Does anyone here know any other specific battles from medieval times with stories of saintly intercessions being asked for, and miraculous occurences as a result?

Amy Remensnyder (Brown University) I know has been working for years on the Virgin Mary as intercessor during the “Reconquista” of Spain. I read one of her early articles on this topic years ago when I was in grad school, but I can’t recall its title.

Also, St. Martin might have been called on for intercession in battle during the Middle Ages as he was a soldier. No exact refs for you, though.

Constantine received a divine sign and intercession in the 4th century – that is one of the primary reasons he decided to lift the laws outlawing Christianity.

September 12 – the Feast of the Holy Name of Mary – “recalls the 1683 Battle of Vienna, in which Catholic forces put a decisive end to non-Christian hopes of dominating Western Europe. An old Dominican prayer book recalls the victory in these words:
On account of the outstanding victory…over the fierce tyrant who has been enslaving the Christian people, and in perpetual memory of so great a favor, the Roman Pontiff, Innocent XI, ordered that the feast of this most delightful name…should be celebrated each year by the universal Church.”

The Battle of Lepanto is celebrated on October 7 in the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Both the Battle of Lepanto and of Vienna were against the Islamic forces who for centuries conducted bloodthirsty conquest in order to attempt to dominate Europe.
