Catholic IQ Test - what's your score?

Just took the long version of that Catholic IQ Test being advertised in the banner on this forum.
I got 192 out of a possible 202 score.

Anybody else take it? How did you do?

Also just so you know, the long version is over 100 questions long.

The banner announcing the Catholic IQ test doesn’t show up on my computer or ipad, so I’m off the hook … is it exclusively for American members, perhaps? Alternately, it could be something to do with ad block.

The art was nice. If these old eyes could do better, it would have been a real treat. Seems well designed.

I got 133 on the long version. I was totally guessing on number of catholics, name the xx who in 300 AD…No clue on some of them.

I think the test was fair, but there could be trouble in one or two of the questions. Specifically the “put these events in order” question(s).

Let’s say you get events 3 and 4 swapped. So your answers look like 1, 2, 4, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8. That’s 6 right and 2 wrong. Now if you think event 3 happened between 7 and 8, but got everything else in the right order your answers will look like 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 3, 8. That’s 5 wrong and 3 right even though you were really only mistaken on one item.

Now I don’t think that affected my score. Names of items and historical figures probably hit me the most, but the ordering questions always concern me. (It’s form watching the Hole in One game from The Price is Right 🙂 )

I know I missed one of the Bible questions because on my read-through of the Bible, I’m not up to some of the later OT books yet. I didn’t think it would be fair to go look up the quotes online rather than answer off the top of my head. Plus I was taking the test on my phone in the car in the dark at the convenience store since I didn’t know it was going to be 100 questions long. I still scored above “priest level” so I’m not too worried about it.

I got a 170 on the long version. My old testament knowledge needs a lot of work and I was getting tripped up on some of the other multiple choice thinking there wasn’t a good choice and wishing it were short answer.

I’m bothered that the results screen brought up the scandal and called the Catholic church in America a joke. It said I should stop tithing and support reforms for married priests. Sorry testmaker. Nope.

Yeah, that bugged me too, that he used an interesting exercise as a propaganda platform. I might send some feedback on that, but he’s no doubt getting a lot of “Amen brother, right on!” feedback on his tired nonsense as well.

I got 154 and was quite happy with that because 160 was a score expected by an active Catholic adult.

Sorry I started another thread on this, I never realized it was here.

I got curious if I would fare any better on the short version. Tried following the link again and the page is glitching out of control with popups about not hitting the back button even though I’m not hitting the back button.

I got 162 on the short version but I had some navigation problems on my phone. I’ll try the long version of when I get home

I got 192 on the short version, and one of the questions I got wrong was due to a misunderstanding. Granted, I may not have gotten it correct anyways. I may take the long version eventually, but I don’t really want to dedicate myself to 100 questions right now.
