Suggestions for kids books (ages 8+) with catholic based viewpoint, etc?

My daughter’s a voracious reader & there’s tons of non-demon. “christian” books out there - but the only Catholic I’ve seen is Sammy Keyes.

Thanks.

PS - thought pop culture was more appropriate topic than parenting

Not exactly Catholic but can’t recomend CS Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia enough–and best to re4ad em in published, not chronological order

Take a look at these:

jazzicals.com/

The first book isn’t overtly Catholic, but the second book has a mystery involving the Rosary, and reveals Catholic characters who are good role models.

Bethlehem Books has many.
8 is probably a little old, but the Catholic St. Therese stories are great.
Neumann Press has lots of books, but they are definitely a bit more expensive. The saints and beasts series, Angel Food, Catholic Stories for Boys and Girls, and more.

Books by:

Colleen O’Shaughnessy McKenna (most of them, anyway, that have to do with the Murrays and their friends)

Judy Delton (especially Kitty From the Start, Kitty in the Middle, Kitty in High School, Kitty in the Summer)

And if you think she’s ready, and you can find them, the Beany Malone series by Lenora Mattingly Weber.

I love anything by Amy Welborn… Her books on the Saints. They are wonderful.

You can find the Beany Malone series and several others that are mostly out of print at Image Cascade Publishing (www.imagecascade.com).

Also try Mary Fabyan Windeatt’s series on lives of the saints (there are about 24 books in the series) and I think Ignatius Press also carries a series on the saints (I think it’s called the Visions series) for young readers.
