"Catholic Links" at Parish Website

I was not sure to include this here or not. I believe this issue concerns the spiritual wellbeing of anyone who visits this particular parish website. There is a disclaimer before the links are presented. There are actually many faithful and orthodox links, however there are many links that are scandalous.

I believe just from the below disclaimer that they will ignore my comments if I present my concerns to them. This is not my parish and the parish is in the neighboring diocese, however my brother attends there sometimes along with a friend of his.

I have my ideas on what errors are included in the above “disclaimer” (IE: follow the concience stuff, What is a “moderate perspective”? but would like your thoughts.

There are links to Fox’s Book of Martyrs, Womens’ Ordination, US Catholic, National Catholic Reporter, America Magazine, etc)

BTW, after further review, I believe the so called moderate links lean heavily left although there are some good sites there too.

I believe the links should not provide information to anything dissident. A Catholic parish exists to spread the truth of the Gospel for the salvation of souls. There’s no need to provide links to things that poison the soul, even in the name of “scholarship.”

The revelation of God is not up for debate. It is definitely true. There is no need to investigate anything that contradicts it, except for the purpose of being able to refute those errors. Even so, a good shepherd does not place the weak, vulnerable sheep in a position exposed to the wolves. Whoever put those things on the website is like a negligent hireling.

But we are convinced that the Pope and his advisors in Rome are making a serious mistake by dismissing women as priests. We feel obliged in conscience to make our carefully considered reasons known.

Just by the wording of it it sounds very left leaning and not at all going to bring you to edifying websites. In fact they may seduce one away from orthodoxy.

Actually, they don’t “fully accept the authority of the Pope,” if they are going to persist in dissent. They should “feel obliged in conscience,” because they are in fact objectively so obliged, to meditate on the Holy See’s reasons, which the Pope has made known. The teaching on the Church’s lack of authority to ordain women (not “dismissing women as priests”) has nothing to with the “personal integrity” or “outstanding” spiritual qualities of the Supreme Pontiff.

Contact the parish first and express your concerns. It is their job to teach the Truth of the Church. People can easily find dissenters of all stripes on their own! You might also want to ask your pastor the best way to approach this. After that you can go to their bishop and yours as necessary.
