During a discussion on my porch with Jehovah Witnesses, the subject of world-wide missions came up. I remarked that Catholic missions have been all over the world, but I would have liked to have been more specific.

I know that there are about 104 nation-states currently in the world. Does anyone know of perhaps a list of what nations currently have active Catholic missions?

Thanks,

Glennonite

If you scroll down through:

newadvent.org/cathen/10375a.htm

there’s a nice chart that breaks things up in different ways. It breaks things up in larger geographic chunks than just country, but it gives you a starting point to look further.

It is probably worth remembering that the Catholic Encyclopedia is 100 years old. If you look at the citations in the link you will see that every source mentioned is even older than that.

I am not sure of a more current source, however.
