I guess I was just voicing my personal frustrations. You know, ranting…blowing off steam…whining, even. My cousin just gave birth via planned c-section because she was convinced it was less pain for her, and announced that she doesn’t care how healthy breastfeeding is, she would rather bottle-feed because breastfeeding seems like too much work. I went through hell to be able to fully breastfeed both of mine, and gave birth naturally with my last one and instead of my “choices” being applauded, I got flack for being proud of it. Maybe I was just looking for a pat on the back for MY choices and going about it the wrong way.
Rant Away! 👍

I would get flack or a strange stare because I elected to exclusively pump for my baby girl.
It’s a pain in the rear to do but DD refused to latch and I did not want to waste my good milk supply.
Most people thought I was crazy and I couldn’t stand hearing my girlfriends complain about BF’ing and quitting after 6 weeks. Or that it was easy for them but they just didn’t want to do it because it got in their way.

Anyway, thanks for your gentle correction. 😊
I am just speculating – but it sounds as if you were getting flak for being proud of your choices, rather than the choices themselves? Perhaps your pride in your choices (which were absolutely right for you) implied to others that their choices were somehow inferior.

I know I had some other mothers imply that their “natural” childbirth was superior to my planned C-section (placenta previa, no other option). Just a thought.
