I have recently started a series of podcasts about the Harry Potter books. The last couple of weeks, there has been a lot of debate - also on this forum - about the question what to think of JK Rowling’s novels. In my podcasts, I explain the many christian symbols and themes that are used in the Harry Potter books and movies that most readers might not see or grasp immediately.
For instance, did you know that a lot of the symbols surrounding the character of Harry Potter, like the phoenix, the unicorn and the stag refer to Christ? And that his owl was named after a saint? If you want to have an informed opinion about the Harry Potter books, you should really give these podcasts a try. There are already about 7000 listeners!
You can find my Harry Potter-podcast on catholicinsider.com, and if you have iTunes 4.9 on your computer, you can also find it in the iTunes directory. Just search for The Secrets of Harry Potter.
