I wanted to know if any Catholic has read Mary Gail Frawley-O’Dea’s book ‘Perversion of Power: Sexual Abuse in the Catholic Church’. I am trying to learn more about this topic, particularly the history of it and the various factors that led up to it. This book came up with great reviews, but none that I could find by Catholics. And part of the description of the book as that the author questions how Catholic Moral Theology may have played a part in the development of the sexual abuse scandal. Changing of Moral Teaching is not something I am interested about since it cannot happen anyway, so I just wanted to know from people who read this book how it is, if the author dives too heavily against official Church teaching, etc.
Thank you in advance for the help
