Liturgy = public worship to God. Rituals are the rubrics used which Christ instituted for the Church to do “In rememberance of me”. These are apostolic Traditions handed down to us by the apostles themselves to practice in baptism, Eucharist, reconciliation, confirmation, Holy orders, Holy Matrimony and anointing of the sick confirmed and supported by the apostolic letters (new testament).

These apostolic rituals are always practiced in Liturgy. Beginning with the infancy, to the age of reason, to the age of decision making of being confirmed, married, or religious until the end of our life. In these Jesus promises never to leave us, because He is with us in all of His sacraments from birth to adult hood to death. Jesus never leaves us, not even in death does he leave us. We know this by the communion of Saints in heaven.

Thus the apostolic Church practice in the sacramental divine economy which is an unforgotten apostolic ritual practiced in Liturgy. Revealed in the signs of water, bread, wine, oil, laying of hands (cross or crucifix) are all biblical apostolic practices. It is from these visible signs the grace and mercy of God is parted to the believer. When scripture confirms we become partakers of his divine nature.

peace be with you
