I’m currently developing a catholic based table top role playing game that is being made for educational purposes for homeschooling my children and I’ll probably start selling the game online as well. I was just wondering if anybody has any good ideas for the game. Because it is catholic based and there is a way protestants and catholics can play together but gameplay is slightly different for both. As of now.

As of now…what? You could pit a good Catholic and a good nondenominal person against knowns and gremlins or something of that order. Write out your game plot and be sure that good overcomes the bad. But your gonna do that anyway, right? The reason I suggested a nonnominal person is we should look for and find the good in everyone.Oh well…

What do you know about the market? What are the game inspirations? What are like games? (and yes, there will be like games)

What kind of RPG game are you aiming for? Are you using figures, hand-drawn maps, base hex, standard dice, D4, D20, all dice, cards?

What is the goal? To learn scripture? To defeat the devil? Is it a cooperative game? Do you have a “dungeon master”?

The current system I have is that if you are catholic and play the game you get to choose to be a crusader, monk/nun, mystic or nothing. And if you are protestant you can either be a crusader(like the catholics) musician, mystic, or nothing.

The games goal is to stop radical Islam from taking over, make sure freemasonry doesn’t infiltrate the church, explore all the areas, and a few more.

ghosts will be found in certain areas and the only way to get them to stop sabotaging you is if you unlock the “prayer for the undead” and use it.
Dangerous animals will be in the wilderness and can attack. And there might be a few mythological creatures. I might add the dragon st George had to kill.

The game will use maps I probably make on the computer and hand drawn(I am an artist) and it is co-op when exploring or attacking outposts that are under control by the radical Islam.

As of right now, all forms of dice are used.

Yeah, while you might make it for your kids, that sounds like a hot mess of PC lawsuits waiting to take over regarding Islam. Remember also that your children’s friends may be protestant and have Freemason fathers.

Well the game is intended to for fun and imagination use. The islam and crusaders is the historical aspect, I don’t see why they would want to take it down. Because wouldn’t they just take down all the history books?

Because they are turned into villains.

But according to history they were villains during the crusades. Right?

There’s the D&D companion “Testament” that turns D&D into a lesson on the OT.
netback extended hack thirty years ago, which in turn was a rewrite (not from the code) of rogue before it. It is a text-based game with 30 years of development and still being developed! (also the only game that matters . . .)

Anyway, it has variants and forks, including “kosherhack” with heavy Jewish elements . . .

Depends on who you ask.

There are people who were legitimatly wronged. A number of the crusaders went rogue.

make sure to watch the entire series.

I don’t really care about what my children’s father is. I wouldn’t allow that to stop me from making the game how I wish.

Muslims are not made the enemy. You can be Muslim and play.

Games like assassins creed, call of duty, and holy defense are all games that make Muslims the “villain”

LOL

I’m saying that you are making two groups of people (Freemasons and Muslims) into enemies. It’s a bad idea.

If it’s what you want to teach your children, then all the power to you.

From a business perspective and cultural standpoint, your game will likely be ignored at best, and mocked at worst. AAA game companies can get away with things that you can’t. At the same time, CoD and Assassins’ creed have all removed entire maps and characters after outcries from moslems.

I mean, radical Islam is an enemy. And freemasonry has tried to infiltrate the church and is condemned by the church. So historically, they can be enemies.
