Can anyone tell me or send me in the direction of finding whom of the signees of the Declaration of independence were Catholic? I allready know that Carroll from Maryland was one. Thanks and God Bless.

Outside of Maryland there were practically no catholics in colonial america. Anti-catholicism was rampant at this time. Ironically the war for independence helped in this regard as Catholic France helped us tremenously against the protestant English. They got to see the relgious side of the French catholic soldiers on a daily basis and it was genuine and very real many soldiers respected catholics after that.
Thank goodness we are not relying of present day France for evangelization.
