I went to a commercial Christian store recently and was very disappointed. I’d like my purchases to support an order of faithful nuns or brothers instead of a commercial entity. Could someone point me to some locations/information/links of Catholic stores run by nuns or brothers of the Church throughout the U.S?

Your best bet is to google them in your area, or purchase online.

Try monasterygreetings.com – they sell all sorts of things made by various religious orders.

Trinity House in Overland Park, KS; I work there!
Which is quite the AWESOME store! 🙂 There is so much packed into what you might think is a small space from the outside, but has more than you’d expect. And Jack (above) is very friendly and helpful.

I Donnelly idonnelly.com/ is a Catholic owned online/offline store.

Many parishes (especially Cathedrals and Basilicas in large cities) have stores. I loved shopping at the National Shrine Shops in DC; the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception: nationalshrineshops.com/

While none of these are ran by a religious order, they do tend to have items made by such orders.

printeryhouse.org/ is ran by the Conception Abbey.

Here is a google result of monastery stores: (take note that some of them are not Catholic monks)

The Daughters of Saint Paul (Paulines) publish Catholic books. They have some bookstores in various states, and you can order books through their websiite. The money raised is for their needs and for their works of evangelisation.

You can see their website at: pauline.org/

Trappist Monasteries throughout the US sell various products for their needs and evangelization efforts. It goes from jams and jellies to beer and even caskets. I think you’d have to look up the individual website for each monastery and abbey. I’m not sure if there is one site that is linked.

If you’re near Los Angeles in California, there’s a little Dominican cloister of sisters in the Hollywood Hills called the Monastery of the Angels, and they have a gift shop. They sell various items including their own pumpkin bread, peanut brittle, and other candies, as well as Mass cards for many occasions. 🙂

Best Catholic bookstore I know.👍

Many monasteries have gift shops and book stores that allow you to shop on-line.

Here’s a search tool for Benedictine monasteries: osb.org/geog/searchform.asp

Find a monastery’s website and there will often be a link to their bookstore or gift shop.
