I was wondering if anyone uses Catholic tracts to evangelize?

I think they can be a useful tool to spread the faith. Whenever I mail a bill (electric, water, cable, etc) I place one in the envelope with www.catholic.com written on the top of the tract. This way whoever reads the tract can have a good website to go to and learn more about the Church. I also place tracts in the return envelopes that come with my daily dosage of junk mail.

Grotto Press sales tracts that fit perfectly into almost any envelope and they use a comic style message like the infamous Jack Chick tracts. They are inexpensive, have a good variety to choose from, well written and of course faithful to the teachings of the Church.

I’m also a big fan of the tracts that Catholic Answers sales. I buy them and place them at a couple of different parishes around were I live. I asked the priest for permission and they said it was fine. They are a big hit and parishioners gobble them up.

What first motivated me to start placing Catholic Answer tracts in the parishes was because Jehovah Witnesses were sneaking into our church and leaving tracts. Once I started placing Catholic Answer tracts we never found another Jehovah Witness tract. Maybe this was because of the Holy Spirit or maybe just coincidence. I don’t know, but I’m glad their not leaving their garbage anymore.

I sometimes buy the booklet “pillar of fire, pillar of truth”, that Catholic Answers sales and place them in phone booths, ATM machines and laundry mats. Sometimes I will leave them with my tip at a restaurant. It’s a great booklet and does a great job at explaining the faith. They are also good booklets to leave around the parish for parishioners to pick up and read.
