Can someone equip mewith good list of good orthodox Catholic universities (orthodox as in fidelity, correct teaching, not orthodox rite.) I need help please. I am also looking for a unviersity that can give me a degree in in Church history, as i am trying to pursue a credential in Church History, anybody?

I’ve heard good things about the Franciscan University at Stuebenville Ohio. Franciscans are good, faithful, orthodox Catholics generally speaking. Good luck on your search!

My daughter just graduated from a fantastic christian university - that has a Catholic college on campus. This Catholic college is an associate school of Fransisican University of Steubenville who helped set it up several years ago. Scott Hahn was/is on the Board of Directors.

It is located just over the border in Canada in British Columbia.
The university is Trinity Western University and the Catholic college on campus there that “partnerships” with them is called,
“Redeemer Pacific College.” Totally and 100% orthodox Catholic!
Kind of a “west coast Steubenville.” The archbishop up there helped set it up.
AND - with the exchange rate between US and Canada - you get a fantastic education at a fraction of the cost of a private college in the US!

Check them out: rpcollege.bc.ca/

I wouldn’t call it a university exactly, but it is very orthodox and will lead you to other places that are orthodox. Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy in Barry’s Bay, Ontario is very good. The biggest bonus is it is cheap. It’s also very small so you can expect to chat with the teachers often.

Ave Maria University (Florida)
Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) 👍
University of Dallas (Texas)

I went to Boston College, a Jesuit university which, of course, does not meet the criteria you requested. I can tell you that my dad worried that I would leave an atheist (those Jesuits you know! 😃 ) but I left with an even stronger faith then when I entered. I have struggled later in life but not because of BC or the Jesuits. Good luck…

Even though it is a Great Books school, try

thomasaquinas.edu/

Students seem to come out very prepared to do just about anything from Thomas Aquinas!

Benedictine College, www.benedictine.edu

I graduated from their theology and youth ministry programs which are top-notch. The whole experience there is terrific! As far as church history, they don’t have that specific degree. But since it is a liberal arts college they have been open to students creating an “interdisciplinary major” (I think that’s what it’s called) where they take classes from several areas and create a major under an advisor’s direction. For example, one student while I was there combined theology, youth ministry, education, and music classes to create a degree in music ministry. It would be worth looking into and asking about, for sure.

I have a daughter at Thomas Aquinas College, and can recommend it as a good “history” school, since their educational philosophy is to have students learn where Western Christian Civilization came from by reading all the “Great Books” that created it.

It is truly a well rounded “Liberal” education.

I also second the recommendation of Benedictine. It is a more traditional University, but has a very good theology and philosophy department, in addition to a pretty darn good sports program. I have been on retreat at the Abbey up there many times, and the Monks there are on the right track.

Nonsense…graduated from a Jesuit university (undergrad + law school) myself and I credit them completely with keeping me in the faith–at least as far as I can be considered “in” by some. Will love the Jesuits to my dying days…

I went to a Jesuit college as well.

We are looking at St. Joseph’s and Villanova for my daughter, who is a high school senior… Villanova is an Augustinian school.
