I see nothing about freemasonry in this letter.

You did not see the context in which I put this letter. It states only that decisions of Second Vatican Council are of more highest value that any proclamations issued by Pope. And this fact was recognized by Pope himself. It means that his own consequent ban on Freemasonry is of no importance to us as it clearly contradicts the 1983 Canon Law instead of deepening and widening of it.

AS long as Freemasons speak of religious indifferentism, as long as some lodges are anti-Catholic, as long as Masons act like those in Alabama (strongly tied to the KKK), then Catholics CANNOT JOIN BECAUSE THE GROUP IS OPPOSED TO THE CATHOLIC FAITH.

Why is this hard to grasp? Does it need to say, Igor, you cannot be a Mason?

Igor, you can try to skip and jump around the issue by deluding yourself into thinking that the only “credible and authoritative” decrees concerning Freemasonry are ones that, in your twisted interpretation, make it ok - but it is not. Masonry is an evil association, one filled with the spirit of Satan, whose instrument they are (Pope Leo XIII, Dall’Alto Dell’Apostolico Seggio) – as the Church has consistently taught since the beginnings of masonry around the 17th/18th century.

Also note, that the documents from the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in the '80s – one to say that Freemasonry is still prohibited according to Church teaching and Canon Law, and another a year later to say ‘yeah, we really mean that’ – were both promulgated in the name of the Pope and were given his approval.

Masonry is incompatible with Christ’s Church.

Just accept the fact that you cannot be a Catholic and a mason at the same time. Wikipedia is not a good reference source. Search Freemasonry and Fr. Serpa here on this forum if you want a higher source than us.

For a secret society, they are not secret and it is very easy to find how belligerent they are to the Catholic Church once you get beyond 3rd degree, then it becomes clear that they are anti-Catholic.

I sorry but in the links you provided to say that the Catholic Church is ok with people being masons say just the opposite. and the 2 on the people you say were priest and mason do not mention anything about them being mason. so every link you provided proves you to be wrong. Igor where are you getting this stuff from Buddy? I used to BE A FREEMASON. I’ve been on the inside. I was a ritualist. A ritualist is not an official office, but it is someone that knows all or at least most of the ritual parts & can fill in any spot. I used to teach this stuff. I also taught masonic morals. … ok to have sex outside of marriage just not with a mason’s wife or daughter. Stuff like that.

In his document issued against Freemasonry John Paul II did not specify that he was using his infallible power. The last infallible decision was issued in 1950:

So, as you see 1983 Canon Code is of superior importance over this decision by Pope, because it was issued as a result of a decision of Second Vatican Council to make some improvements in Church Law. All decisions of Ecumenical Councils are infallible in any case.

It means that it is not obligatory for a Catholic to accept this decision of Pope and as Freemasonry is not banned by 1983 Canon Code you can be both a Catholic and a Freemason if you like. Are you sure that it was only “editorial ommitment” that caused Freemasonry not to be included in a list of anti-Church organizations? Maybe, a more deep insight of Council Elders into this problem was revealed to us by 1983 Canon Code. It was no more than a direct saying: Freemasonry is allowed.

You really have NO idea. You are either not a Catholic or a Catholic who knows little about his faith.

Catholics CANNOT be Freemasons.

Anyone can see this philosophy that the Freemasons elevate to the height of religion is incompatible with Christianity.

The Templar-Freemason connection is all speculative psuedo-history if not plain fantasy made up by Freemasons to make their 18th century creation more exciting and romantic.

The Templars as a whole were not excommunticated, they were dissoved as a religious order. Their holdings were devided between other orders with many of the Templar transfering to other orders, returning to secular life, or becoming mercenaries. Some even had a pension that came from their service as Templars.
