PRAYER, FASTING, ALMS-GIVING, FAMILY, HOLINESS, UNITY…

If you are a convert from Islam, what of Catholic practice is most compelling to you?

For Catholics in general, what inspires you about Islam that Catholics could learn from?

God’s blessings to you all.

I’m not going to answer this question directly. However I did live in the Middle East, in predominantly Muslim country.
To encourage prayer, our priest suggested using the Muslim call to prayer. I had already discovered that the times of prayer coincided somewhat with the Liturgy of Hours, which I pray.
I will not say there is anything about Islam that inspires me. However, just as there are Christians of Faith, I met Muslims of Faith and we spent time discussing what we held in common. I would be in a taxi, and the taxi driver would talk about his faith in God, for example.
I would talk about the sacredness of marriage with the rug merchant who became a friend of mine. An Egyptian doctor friend of mine has posted about the sacredness of life and how abortion violates his Hippocratic oath. Actually he posts much about his faith, and I know that he recognizes the scriptural verses that I post on his timeline as being Biblical.
