Is the environment important to Catholics?

Is global warming seen as happening currently? Or is it bad science? Is diminishing biodiversity a problem for earth? Is water/air pollution a problem? Or is Jesus coming back so soon that we don’t really have to worry about these things?

What are your thoughts?

When God created the earth, He pronounced it good. Adam was insructed to take care of the Garden.

I would want to believe that since God GAVE us the earth, we should try to take care of it the best we can.

As for global warming, I really do not believe it to be so. This past winter in NE Ohio was pretty COLD, especially around Christmas Eve. We had a much colder winter and a LOT of snow. If there was global warming, it wouldn’t hit lower than 20 ALL winter.

The earth wether system runs through cycles, that is what I believe and that cycle is maintained by God.

Some areas are supposed to get colder and others warmer.

So iceshelves melting off antarctica don’t matter?

so because you think it is maintained by God, does that mean it is out of our control? We shouldn’t protect it with laws? But isn’t everything maintained by God in your worldview, in that case, why are there chemists or physicists or economists?
