I am trying to make an accurate rendering of Catholicism in Civ 5. I am playing as Byzantines so I get a bonus belief. The beliefs are as follows.
civilization.wikia.com/wiki/Religion_(Civ5

I am not sure what combination most represents Catholicism. Please help.

I totally love that game 😃
Yeah I agree. The religion system is a lot better than in previous games. However so many of the beliefs strike me as Catholic I can’t decide.

I’d have to check my kids’ copy, but I thought the new expansion pack specifically had Catholic, Protestant, and Eastern Orthodox. I seem to remember my daughter said that Catholic was essentially Christian in the original version and they split it with EP2. I’m not sure since I haven’t had a chance to play more than one or two games.

I am a huge fan of the Civilization series! I always go for Tithe, Asceticism, Pagodas, Defender of the Faith, and Jesuit Education. For a realistic Catholic faith, I would do World Church, Papal Primacy, Asceticism, and Cathedrals. Reformation belief would be Jesuit Education.

Considering how western Europe went form a backwater region of Eurasia in 800 AD to a dominant civilization in technology, science, literacy and institutions of education, I would give all Catholic temples a +10% bonus on science research, their monestaries a +25% and the cathedrals a +20%.
