I looked up your profile and guess what? YOu aren’t much older then my own son. He is just a few months younger then you. Do you like to read? There are many sources that answer your question. A wonderful source is a book by a young woman named Amy Welborn entitled Prove It
Here is what she says: ""HEre’s the poin that we’re trying to make about this very complicated matter called salvation: There is hardly a scrap of evidence in either the Bible-honestly read-or in most of the history of Christianity to support the fundamentalists’ claim of what salvation is all about.
*** They’ll(fundamentalist Christians)claim that it comes in a single moment of decision. THe Scriptures don’t have any passages supporting that and in fact, frequently speak of salvation as a process that begins with the grace God gives through the waters of Baptism. They’ll say that the sinner isn’t really changed by accepting Christ, that he remains a sinner. The scriptures and Christian Tradition clearly say, over and over, that in this process of salvation our goal is indeed to cooperate with God’s grace, to change, to grow in holiness and to become more Christ like everyday. So what you should clearly see, and be confident in saying, is that there doesn’t seem to be much evidence in Scripture to support your Bible only friend’s notion of salvation. The evidence really points the other way.*
*** LIke so many conversations you’ll have with your friend, your ability to discuss this without getting completely confused depends on how clearly you see that the fundamentalist perspective is, quite frankly, wrong. You can’t accept their assumptions. No, the Catholic Church doesn’t speak of being saved and born again in the same way your friend’s church does.***
My son has been reading this book on and off. He hates to read but this is a really easy to understand book. I hope that you can find it. It only cost me $6.95. Perhaps if your parents knew that you wanted a religious book they might buy it for you.

Hi Kyle,
If you want to know more about our Church, why not go to your local Catholic parish and find out if they have a youth group, or classes for young people? You might really enjoy meeting the priest there, and could find some good Catholic spiritual direction from him, whether there is a youth group or not. Let us know if you go!
