Two points…
with respect to “Cold, Emotionless, Churches” claim:
This claim ALWAYS seems to come from those that are nominal in their faith as a whole. They go once or twice a month AT BEST… they don’t take the time to study Christianity on their own… they don’t get involved… etc… HOWEVER, when they need help they initial response of “I’ll help but Who are you?” offends the individual…
“I’ve come to this church for years” albeit only at Christmas " How dare you not know who I am…"
OR
They disagree with the church on some issue, can’t accept that they may be wrong, and go to a church that ‘supports’ their view all the while proclaiming how ‘insensitive’ the church is.
I’d love to see the number of PRACTICING Catholics that find their own parish, or any parish as lifeless…
You get what you put in…
############
The second point I want to mention is about Mega Church growth…
Prime reason why they grow so fast…
Honest billboard for local ‘Church’
“Bored with Church? Come here!”
This mentality attracts a large percentage of people REGARDLESS of faith backgrounds…
Go to a church you don’t invest in, and thus are bored with, or go somewhere that offers fun…
of course my question is just when did entertaining become a key factor of faith… isn’t expecting to be entertained mean that you expect yourself to be the center of your faith, and not Christ? Doesn’t this mean you are NOT allowing your self to decrease, so that Christ can increase…
THAT BEING SAID…
I have seen very good Christians come out of some of these churches so I am not saying someone that goes to these churches s automatically Doomed
