Has anyone seen this series or used it in Cathechism/RCIA/CCD classes?

It would be great if sets can be donated to public libraries or to Catholic parishes to use in their Cathechism or RCIA classes. It seems Catholics don’t know the teachings of the church, nor the history of the church. It’s getting easier to push aside Catholic teaching because so many of our young think the church is irrelevant.
 
We used it for the first 10 sessions of RCIA this year. While I think it is a very good series it left a number of those in RCIA scratching their heads. I think it is good for delving into specific topics, but it doesn’t not touch on a number of sticky issues for converts (i.e. church teaching on marriage, sexuality, grace, etc.) It should be used as a supplement not as the main teaching tool. There are just too many areas of the practical application of Catholicism in day to day life that are not covered.
 
I have a copy. I finally broke down and bought it because neither Netflix nor our public library has it. It’s simply amazing and I haven’t regretted the money spent. I’m lending it to friends and relatives who are interested.
 
Yes! My parish used this for adult faith formation in lieu of a Bible study course. It was extremely well-received. We used it in a group sharing format. We began each session with a prayer and then watched the disc. Afterwards, we broke into small groups and were assigned discussion questions, but in general we discussed anything we wanted. Then we came together as one group and shared our findings with everyone.

I think it was a great opportunity for everyone to discover the Church and the imagery used was fantastic. Fr. Barron is a great teacher with very clear words and ideas.
 
My husband and I are taking this class right now. Next week is the final episode. It has been great!
 
It is a very high quality series, would definately reccomend.

We have our own copy. To cover Catholicism in all its aspects in 10 hours or so means Fr. B can’t dwell on any bit for very long. It’s like Kenneth Clark’s ‘Civilisation’ series, or Ken Burn’s Civil War: you get a very big picture of the subject and it’s up to you to go deeper into the topics that strike you.
 
Yes, I use them throughout the year in my RCIA classes and I showed them all in my Bible study class. They are very well done!

If we contact our libraries and request this enough, they will purchase it. It would be wonderful to see more copies made easily available to the general public.👍
I have seen a few of the segments online and appreciated them.
