Have the Bishops ever talked about this? I’m assuming many of the members of this organization have been automatically excommunicated, but wouldn’t the Church do well to state this publicly and decisively?

On this topic, what exactly can the Church do in response to people like this? Is there anything more than excommunication? Kind of more broadly: what are all the effects of excommunication?

Thanks,

This organization began in 1973 under the name “Catholics for a Free Choice,” under the leadership of Frances Kissling, and funding from a number of secular sources. It is a pro-abortion organization. Both the USCCB and the Canadian Catholic Bishops have stated that it is not a Catholic organization and promotes positions that are contrary to Catholic Faith. Anyone who is a member of CFC can in no way be said to be a faithful Catholic. In short, it is not a Catholic organization. It’s policies are anti-Catholic.
