Is it allowed for a Catholic to be married in the Church to a non-Christian (whether Jews, Muslims, others and even atheists)?

Yes.

Pretty much the same rules apply as marrying a non-Catholic Christian.

Actually Catholic2003, you are completely correct.
1633 In many countries the situation of a mixed marriage (marriage between a Catholic and a baptized non-Catholic) often arises. It requires particular attention on the part of couples and their pastors. A case of marriage with disparity of cult (between a Catholic and a nonbaptized person) requires even greater circumspection.

It will be the vocation of johngiftshort to convert the future spouse…Read more at: christusrex.org/www1/CDHN/matri.html#MATRIMONY

Given what I’ve seen I’m not convinced that this is a good idea. I hope the Church reexamines this.

There is one major difference between a Catholic-non Catholic marriage and a Catholic-non Catholic Christian marriage and that is that the former is a valid union when the dispensations are given and the latter is a SACRAMENT when the dispensations are given. Mass may be celebrated in the latter but not the former. Protestants and Orthodox share a familial relationship with us that Muslims and Jews etc. do not.
