God Does Not Separate Salvation By Religious Denomination. Denomination Is A Man-made Thing. When The Bible Refers To “church” It Is Speaking Of Faith-abiding Persons In General. It’s Really More About The Beatitudes Than Anything. Religious Denominations That Have Evolved Over Time Have Evolved Because Of Man-made Conflict. I Really Get Unnerved When I See Certain Faiths Designating Themselves As Eternal Judge.

My wife’s was. That was a large issue for her. She was concerned that she would need to be re-baptized and to her that would have been like telling her that what she experienced previous was not real.

The answer to your question is that it is up to God. No one is saved by being a, “good Catholic” or a “good Protestant” or a good anything for that matter. We are saved by the Grace of God alone, Catholic, or Protestant, white or black, Grace!

Although I agree and affirm the Church’ teaching that we are saved by grace your post seem to indicate that there is no longer need for religion… or evangelization… or ecumenism… or truth. Are we just going to sit around and wait or not wait for ‘that’ saving grace… or what? Can you please elaborate. Thank you.

Remember that we are asked to… " be perfect for our Father in heaven is perfect".

By the way, I’m a Roman Catholic, too.

All I can go with is what the Church and the Holy Scriptures have to say:

1996 Our justification comes from the grace of God. Grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us to respond to his call to become children of God, adoptive sons, partakers of the divine nature and of eternal life.

2027 No one can merit the initial grace which is at the origin of conversion. Moved by the Holy Spirit, we can merit for ourselves and for others all the graces needed to attain eternal life, as well as necessary temporal goods.

8* For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God – 9 not because of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Eph. 2:8-10

Then once we receive this Grace:

2018 Like conversion, justification has two aspects. Moved by grace, man turns toward God and away from sin, and so accepts forgiveness and righteousness from on high.

Those things you mentioned are important, they are the things for which we were “created in Christ” for. However they do not merit for us Grace, other wise Grace would not be, “…favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us” like the Catechism states.

If I am wrong here, please show me.

I forgot to mention what the Council of Trent says:

“[N]one of those things which precede justification, whether faith or works, merit the grace of justification; for if it is by grace, it is not now by works; otherwise, as the Apostle Paul says, grace is no more grace” (Decree on Justification 8, citing Rom. 11:6)
