Catholics: Will stupid people go to hell?

I see alot of stuff around here about how those outside the Catholic Church will all go to hell. Some argue well those who never heard of the Catholic Church wont, other argue yes they will. ugh. I even see quotes from the CCC and popes that appear to conflict (Yeah yeah I know only the smart people can see they don’t REALLY Conflict )

So say you have a person who isn’t all that smart, he hears of several different churches. Wants to do right but doesn’t know which is right. He never swims the Tiber. He just does his best to to what he thinks God wants. Now I can see condemning to hell people who KNOW what the truth is and rejects it, but what if he just isn’t sure? Hell or no? Please explain why you answer how you do.

No one has been able to prove to me that the Catholic Church IS “the Church Jesus founded” I get “Cause the Church said so” plus some very vague biblical references. Even so its pretty off topic.

** Actually the topic is saving souls, no matter what the question.

Jesus established the Church and said:

• “Upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”.
• “I will be with you always, until the end of the age”.
• “The Spirit will come and lead you into all truth”.
• “The pillar and foundation of truth is the Church”

John 1:12; 3:16,18,36; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-10,13; Ephesians 2:8-9

Do you agree with that? And the Rock was St Peter and the Catholic church is the only church that can trace its begining back to St Peter and we follow his successor. What other proof do you need “Thomas”? Put you hand into our lord’s side would that prove it to you? Probably not! SIGH
