You are in my prayers…continue to be brave.
Thanks. 🙂 Bravery is not usually my strong suit, but I am giving it my best shot, and keeping up my own prayers even when I’m feeling a bit exausted/tired of everything. So far, so good…

Praying for you with Bible verses from today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Mid-morning reading (Terce) Jeremiah 31:33 ©
This is the covenant I will make with the House of Israel when those days arrive – it is the Lord who speaks. Deep within them I will plant my Law, writing it on their hearts. Then I will be their God and they shall be my people.

Noon reading (Sext) Jeremiah 32:40 ©
I will make an everlasting covenant with them. I will not cease in my efforts for their good, and I will put respect for me into their hearts, so that they turn from me no more.

Afternoon reading (None) Ezekiel 34:31 ©
You, my sheep, are the flock I shall pasture, and I am your God – it is the Lord who speaks.

These verses were very appropriate! Thank you so much.

I have been kind of blah lately too. I believe this happened to me last year at about this same time. I was very tired of the cold, wet, winter weather and suddenly, a cool spring arrived. I love the improvement in the weather but seem to be stuck in a spiritual rut. Not sure what it is. I will keep praying. I will pray for you too!

God bless.
Thank you for your prayers – I will pray for you as well! I know the spiritual rut well… for me it usually coincides with a depressive time coming on in general, but not always. Hang in there!

Lord please help my sister in her struggle. Help her rest in your arms and rely on your strength and comfort to get her through whatever it is she needs. In Jesus’ mighty and powerful Name, Amen.
mlz
Thank you! I actually had an image something like that in my head when I went to sleep last night – needed a consoling place to “hide” and that was perfect.

Prayers for you in this difficult situation. Take it to adoration. Offer up your sufferings to God and he will help you. Be still when you are in adoration and allow his comfort and healing to enter you and fill you will you need to face the tribulation in your life. That is my prayer for you today.
I got to go to confession/adoration/Benediction/the chaplet of Divine Mercy last Friday afternoon, and it was wonderful. Unfortunately I can only make it there every other week and I’m not sure about other opportunities nearby, but I will definitely be going back on the 19th (the day before my bday!). Thank you for your prayers and the great suggestion.

Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits
who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
Thank you. It’s the perfect prayer for this situation, in some ways!

Holding you in my prayers.
Thank you. Your signature reminded me I should get out St. Therese’s autobiography and re-read it; I was about halfway on another read-through and she’s wonderful to read when you’re feeling down/hopeless/etc.

Father, I ask You to bless francesca gen. Show her a new revelation of Your love and power.
Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to her spirit at this very moment. Where there
is pain, give her Your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed
confidence through Your grace. Where there is need, I ask you to fulfill her needs.
Bless her homes, families, finances, her goings and her comings. In Jesus’
precious name. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Francesca: I am moved by your plea, and immediately I knew the remedy: it is that given to us by Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska - through whom Jesus gave us some very important information. JESUS WANTS SO BAD FOR PEOPLE TO GO TO HIM WITH SITUATIONS LIKE YOURS BECAUSE IN GIVING FROM HIS INFINITE STORE, IT HONORS HIS GOODNESS. What caused him (causes him, in the present tense) the most angst and pain is that people WILL NOT TRUST HIM ENOUGH, which isn’t just about his power, but his DESIRE TO MAKE US WHOLE.

There is no such thing as something that can change his mercy, his care for you, his desire to fix your dilemma.

If you simply “look him square in the eye” and tell him: JESUS, I TRUST YOU, and then let go completely of any kind of reservations of that trust, you’ll find that indeed HE DOES take care of it.

Reading Faustina’s diary, I found in it how MUCH Jesus is begging for people to TRUST him. To help with this I imagine my own situation with my children: what an insult to me it would be for them to mistake or fail to recognize my good intentions, my desire for their health and welfare, for providing for them, and hence for them to “wander” in stubborn disbelief that I was there for them. There is a big difference, of course, in this metaphor: I am not capable of, nor as loving or perfect, as Jesus is in his PERFECT power and infinite love, so my care for my kids is but a faint shadow of the INDISPUTABLE AND COMPREHENSIVE love Jesus has, and his power to fix, my problems. And what seems “impossible” to many of us very often in our lives is child’s play to God for whom, clearly, nothing is impossible. Meditating yesterday on the mystery of the miracle at Cana reminded me of what seemingly is an impossibility -getting wine for the feast. Big deal: just put a couple hundred gallons of water in those jugs. Got it handled! AND AS THE STORY IS GIVEN TO US, IT WASN’T JESUS’ IDEA: IT CAME FROM MARY, ASKING FOR THE IMPOSSIBLE and not for a life threatening, or dire, or even “serious” situation at all: SIMPLY BECAUSE IT WOULD BE EMBARRASSING FOR THE HOST TO RUN OUT OF WINE.

I cannot say this strongly enough: JESUS IS ALL ABOUT “YES, TRUST ME, AND BE MADE WHOLE!” When you consider he CAN, and that he WANTS to, --it could be that you are in your situation in the divine scheme of things SIMPLY TO MAKE YOU COME TO THE POINT WHERE YOU HAVE TO SUBMIT YOURSELF TO HIM at this time, so that you get the message, fall in love with him in a new way, and get “converted” about this whole issue. “There’s no one so fanatic as a reformed drunk!”

God bless, and you ARE in my own prayers, which is a way of saying, “you got it!”

Hello Francesca. I’m still praying for you. :crossrc:

When I read mlz’s prayer about resting in the arms of Jesus it reminded me of a song a good friend of mine wrote called “God Only Knows.” Paul wrote, “within your wounds I’ll hide.” (We pray that in the Anima Christi prayer). I have made videos with Paul’s songs but not that one yet. So I will put the lyrics to that song here for you to read and to pray.

(c) 1/14/02 Paul Lisney

GOD ONLY KNOWS

I’d like to think that You and I will be as we are now
So close that none can come between our love

God only knows what will be
God only knows what will be

I hate to think, my Lord, that I could lose what we have now
Grant me the grace to never stray from Thee

God only knows where I’d be without His love
God only knows where I’d be

I have a dream, my Lord, that I will love You more than now
Show me the way to love and comfort Thee

Oh What would I do
Oh Without You
My soul would surely die
These tears would never dry
And the wound would never heal
This void could not be filled
And the emptiness would grow
And I don’t want to know where I’d be

Oh And what of You
When a soul is lost to You
The tears must fill Your eyes
For that spirit chose to die
And oh the thirst You feel
To forgive and heal
Lord, within Your wounds I’ll hide
And pray that by Your side is where I’ll be
I love that song. I cry whenever I hear it, and I say to Him, “I want to hide in your wounds Jesus!” Go to Him!

Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
