CCC Catechism Best Link K of Columbus

The best internet resource for the Catechism of the Catholic Church, CCC, is the Knights of Columbus web site at

kofc.org/un/en/catechism/index.html

It loads fast. You can type a paragraph number to easily access that paragraph.
The thing to remember when using a cell phone is to scroll down after you hit the “Submit” button in order to read the text below.

And super great, you can click on the foot note to read the reference and by clicking on the
[View Referenced Text]
you can read the actual texts which are published in the
Companion to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

This is very useful if you want to get the whole context by reading, the Bible text, the Early Church Father, Papal Encyclical, CIC,
DS - Heinrich Joseph Dominicus Denzinger and Adolf Schönmetzer, S.J.’s Enchiridion Symbolorum - definitionum et declarationum de rebus fidei et morum (1965) etc. **

The CCC at the USCCB loads really slow and is quite cumbersome. See
ccc.usccb.org/flipbooks/catechism/index.html

The CCC at the Vatican web site is cumbersome when you access a paragraph by its number. You can do it, but it is not readily evident as to how to do it.

Praise God for Knights of Columbus.
They really know how to evangelize.

Thank you for posting this.

I have long used the searchable copy on the St. Charles Borromeo website:

scborromeo.org/ccc.htm
Thanks to the OP for the tip. I also have used St. Charles Borromeo.

I have all but given up on the USCCB’s CCC since they “updated” it. It used to be good. Now it is slow to load, the search tool is much harder to use (in my hands, anyway), and quoting text requires extra steps and does not allow quoting of headings. Argh!

The Knight of Columbus website also hosts several free Catechism and faith formation courses. I have been taking the Luke E Hart course (written by Peter Kreeft, popular Catholic author and chair of Philosophy at Boston College) that is based on the Catechism. You just have to create a login so you can read or listen to it all and take the tests. All free and they don’t send you any spam. I highly recommend it.

Here’s ANOTHER VERY GOOD site I have used for years

scborromeo.org/ccc.htm

I will be inducted into the KofC Monday evening at my parish. I understand to achieve 2nd and 3rd degrees will require traveling to other parishes quite far from me. I went to an information session a few months back, but never quite got an answer as to why I need to, or the benefits of, moving up in the organization. I just want to volunteer to help my parish/community (work the St. Augustine Pancake Breakfast, sell Christmas cards, etc.) but not get involved in leadership. In other words, I’m content to be a foot soldier but have no desire to become a general. Is it ok to stay a 1st order Knight?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

God bless,

Michael

Welcome brother knight. I am 3rd degree and like you I have no plans to get into leadership positions. I suggest getting 3rd degree. Sometimes you can get 2nd and 3rd degree on the same day.

The Knights are very blessed to have such a holy leader in
Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson

The Church has asked us to focus on the Fortnight of Freedom. The Knights have answered the Church’s call to help educate the average Catholic who knows way too little about this important topic.

The have written some insightful articles about the movie :

and the Movie

Thanks John. That’s interesting. I assumed that a Knight had to earn, in some respect, the higher degrees.

Mike

God bless.

Greetings,

Since the some of the hyperlinks above were lost let me repost with the attempt to re-activate them below. By consensus the favorites seem to be these two. Each has different search formats in the results que, so the differing advantages depends on what one is looking for

The other search engines are Catechism of the Catholic Church
