This year’s conference is “Ignite the Fire (again) Lord!” is September 19th and 20th. Fr. Bill Halbing, Sr. Ann Shields, along with Jim and Joy Pinto will be the presenters.

**Please try and check your calendars for **

September 19 & 20, 2008.

**There are a number of reasons we feel that this will be our most powerful conference yet. One I would like to point out, is that Bishop Baker wants to celebrate a Catholic Charismatic Mass as part of the Saturday Vigil at OLS. Mnsgr. Muller has also given his blessing for this Mass.

**However, due to the sheer numbers at the Vigil Mass and those at the conference, the Mass will be held in the Family Life Center for the conference.

A Life In the Spirit Seminar that will begin the following Thursday in the Family Life Center at OLS.

You noticed we said packed, they have upwards of three hundred or so people there on Sat for the Vigil Mass - add our numbers - so this is the reason we moved it to the hall for those attending the conference, literally, there would not be room for everyone in the Church.

Talk about the Holy Spirit moving and the Bishop leading the way. Wow!

Would no one show up if it was a regular Mass?
I don’t want to assume anything, but do you mind elaborating on your motive behind your question?

This is a Spirituality Forum … it is a CCR CONFERENCE

Well after I went to Steubenville back in 2002, I was under the impression that most of the teenagers in attendance would have preferred to stay home if it wasn’t just one big rock concert with a couple Masses thrown in. I suppose one can only get the Holy Spirit if there’s a rock band next to the Altar.

Well usually the Bishop does the opening Mass on Friday morning. So it is truly a blessing the HE requested to do the Vigil Mass. Like I said OLS is normally full for that Mass on Sat. evening, so to put our 100s in the Church would not really be considerate for those who attend the normal schedule of services. The decision to do otherwise was done through the agreement of everyone involved.

As for Steubenville, everytime I have taken a group of youth there, they have been nothing but estatic to be there. I am sorry that you left from your trip with that experience.

Steubenville is successful because it tries to make itself appealing to the tastes and interests of contemporary youth, so it has rock and roll for music. Organ music and Mass are too churchy and mundane for the “on-the-go” yogurt-in-a-tube-eating kids, and I’d venture a guess that that is why the Charismatic thing caught on so well.

I’ve asked it before, and and I’ll ask it again:

How do you get any closer to the Holy Spirit than through the Body and Blood of Christ?

Exactly. I suppose some people need to feel instant gratification to believe.

It’s so unfortunate that people here, on the Spiritality forum, can’t talk about two things (these are what I have noticed since becoming a member)…the CCR and head covering… without someone taking a stab …so sad.

It’s even sadder how no one could come up with an answer to my first question.

We will have three Masses that will be equally well attended, the first two will be done by the priest presenting the conference, along with a number of other priests and deacons. At the beginning on Thursday evening with the prayer group - which you are welcomed to attend DJ. Then Friday morning, and the Vigil Mass on Saturday evening. Also, throughout the conference there is scheduled Eucharistic Adoration during the conference, for the conference, there are also rosarys being prayed during it, along with the praise and worship of the community gathered there. Confessions are readily avaiable throughout the conference also.

Paul said, “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection” (Philippians 3:10). Notice Paul did not say, “I want to know about Christ,” but “I want to know Christ.”

Again Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:
6 For God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to bring to light the knowledge of the glory of God on the face of (Jesus) Christ.** 7 **** But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us.** 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are constantly being given up to death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh. YOU KNOW WHAT, EARTHEN VESSELS LEAK!

I WANT MORE OF JESUS!

**The Holy Spirit remains with us -

St. Padra Pio prayed -
Stay with me, Lord
Prayer of St. Pio of Pietrelcina after Holy Communion http://www.padrepiodevotions.org/images/padrepio02.jpgStay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have
You present so that I do not forget You.
You know how easily I abandon You.
Code:
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak
             and I need Your strength,
that I may not fall so often.

Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life,
and without You, I am without fervor.

Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light,
and without You, I am in darkness.

Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.

Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice
             and follow You.

Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You
very much, and always be in Your company.

Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.

Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my soul is,
I want it to be a place of consolation for You, a nest of love.

           Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close, and life passes;
death, judgment, eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength,
so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You.
It is getting late and death approaches,
I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows.
O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile!

Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all it’s dangers. I need You.

Let me recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of the bread,
so that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness,
the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.

Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to You,
if not by communion, at least by grace and love.

Stay with me, Jesus, I do not ask for divine consolation, because I do not merit it,
but the gift of Your Presence, oh yes, I ask this of You!

Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone I look for, Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart,
Your Spirit, because I love You and ask no other reward but to love You more and more.

With a firm love, I will love You with all my heart while on earth
and continue to love You perfectly during all eternity. Amen

THIS IS WHY I NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT CONTINUOUSLY, INCLUDING AND AFTER I HAVE RECEIVED JESUS IN THE EUCHARIST AND ALL THE SACRAMENTS OF THE CHURCH!

A friend of mine just replied that the ‘Great joy received from receiving Christ in the Eucharist can’ t be contained…remember what Jesus said…if they had to remain silent…the stones themselves would shout.’

Luke 19:36 As he rode along, the people were spreading their cloaks on the road; 37 and now as he was approaching the slope of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of his disciples began to praise God aloud with joy for all the mighty deeds they had seen. 38 They proclaimed: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest.” 39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” 40 He said in reply, “I tell you, if they keep silent, the stones will cry out!”

God bless you!
