Hi,

Ok the CD-ROM = Sacred Tradition:

Jesus records “Everything” on to a CD-ROM and hands this"CD-ROM" To the Apostles. The Apostles make copies of
this CD-ROM and hand out these copies to the Bishops. The
Bishops make copies of the CD-ROM to give to the New Bishops
they Ordain, and so on and so on, down the line, to this very Day the Catholic Church has this CD-ROM.Now the Protestants come
along and want to run the show with just the Bible alone without
the CD-ROM, but they splinter into thousands of Pieces and when
Questioned about this they say the CD-ROM never existed.I want
to know if this is a good Analogy or a bad one.

Thanks
Joey

Your not going into any detail to explain the analogy. It looks like your talking about a cd, then all of a sudden were talking straight theology. Put more effort in it.

Just my opinion though, peace

Bad one. Jesus founded an institution with a living man, Peter, as the Rock. Now the Church accepted the Jewish scriptures as holy, and in time produced writings of her own which, as living memory faded, became extremely useful and valuable as a record of what Jesus said. However Jesus Himself writes only once in the gospels, and then it is to write in sand.

Jesus didn’t come, like Mohammed, to say “this is the Word of God, the solution to every question, written on these date leaves here”. He spoke in parables, He sometimes even seems to contradict Himself. The Church gets the basic idea, and then applies it to the issues of the day.

If you are going to argue that Jesus was in the right but the Church is wrong, then you’ve got to have some other basis for your authority. The two obvious choices are some private revelation, or Sola Scriptura.
