This Lent I really tried to make the season special, and incorporate meaning into it everyday. It really helped bring me closer to God and appreciate the Church’s calendar. I want to do that with Easter too, especially the Easter Octave.

But I don’t really have any ideas.

I didn’t visit 7 churches on Holy Thursday, so I thought I might try to visit a different church every day this week.

I’m not fasting, or even abstaining from sugar and flour, like I normally try to do (Yum, pie for lunch!)

Are there any other ideas you have for making the Easter Octave a great celebration?!

Would you be interested in learning how Easter was celebrated in European countries in past centuries?

Absolutely! I love learning about history and tradition. Can you teach me? Or give me some links?

Add in parts of the Liturgy of the Hours (LotH)? My personal preference is for the Office of Readings, since I only have time to do one part each day.

Check out DivineOffice.org for an idiot-proof way to pray the LotH. I am the idiot who tested it, so I know 😛
