Centering Prayer By Fr. Keating - OK or Not OK?

Would like to know if the Centering Prayer by Fr. Thomas Keating is acceptable practice or not. I have already gotten the standard info from: contemplativeoutreach.org/ but I don’t think they provided any specific endorsements by local Bishops, etc. The book was actually quite good in many ways, but I would like to find a specific endorsement before starting. Thanks.
