Chaldean Catholics and Syro-Malabar Catholics are similar in that they have a similar liturgical heritage (East Syrian) and can trace their heritage to the Assyrian Church of the East. Main differences are that they are distinct churches, have different areas (Syro-Malabar is based in India, Chaldean based in Iraq) and of course, vernacular languages. The Syro-Malabars will likely use Malayalam, and the Chaldeans, Arabic. And I think both churches still use Aramaic for the Eucharistic Prayer (Anaphora).
