Chance the Rapper Mixtape Religious Themes

Hey there! Once again making a post about music! Anyways, I am a fan of rap music (I know kind of touchy) but as I have grown deeper in my faith I try to censor and filter the songs I listen to and keep them as clean and moral as possible. I decided to give a listen to Chance the Rappers latest mixtape entitled “Coloring Book”, and was I ever surprised at the content. Almost ever song on the list delves into talk about God. My favourites are Blessings, How Great and Finish Line / Drown, these songs feature gospel undertones and I find them to be quite uplifting compared to most rap out there these days! I find it very admirable that he would choose to talk about these subjects when a lot of his fan base probably are not believers. I think it is great that he is planting the idea of God into so many listeners minds and for me who is a Christian, I love that there is some secular rap out there that discusses God in a great way. If you are a fan of rap or gospel I would definitely recommend checking the mixtape out and even if you aren’t check out the lyrics! Just thought I’d share! Feel free to discuss
