Dear friends

I would be most grateful if any one of you could type on this thread the full words of the Chapelet of Divine Mercy. I have just watched this on EWTN and cried so much I couldn’t complete all of the Chapelet, it is a powerful prayer. And may I urge you to pray this whenever you get the opportunity.

Begin with the Our Father…, Hail Mary…, I believe in God…
On the single beads, in place of the Our Father:

Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

Pause briefly, meditating on the Passion of Jesus
On the ten beads, in place of the Hail Mary:

For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

After the five decades, say three times

Holy God, Holy Mighty One,
Holy Immortal one, have mercy on us,
and on the whole world.

The first time I stumbled (accidentally) upon the Chaplet of Divine Mercy Chaplet on EWTN, I was overcome with emotion. I couldn’t get the words out of my head (and unlike the usual case when this happens, I didn’t want to).

It’s such a beautiful prayer and the Chaplet is done wonderfully. I went so far as to order my very own VHS. 🙂 .

There is just something about it. It says so little, yet somehow says it all.
 
Our parish has a group that says the Divine Mercy every Friday evening. There is so many blessings you wouldn’t believe that spring from this devotion.

The EWTN’s Divine Mercy is beautiful - and I cry also when I see it. The tune is beautiful and stays with you. I find myself humming it often in the car.

I was introduced to the Divine Mercy Chaplet rather by “accident” ( you know -one of God’s accidents) on Divine Mercy Sunday - the first Sunday after Easter.

I am hooked on it now. I have set my cell phone to ring everyday at 3pm to remind me of the time. I can ditch out to the ladies room quickly at work and do this devotion.

Sometimes I do admit that the devil plays games with my head, and tries to convince me that saying the pray is pointless. That it is just a quick prayer so how could it do much good. So if the miserly foe is going to try and sway me from doing the Chaplet daily, then I guess it is pretty powerful!

I love the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and recite it often in the adoration chapel…I learned it by listening to it on EWTN radio at 3:00 everday…so even now when I say it without the radio, I sing it in my head like they do on EWTN…it’s a beautiful prayer and if I dont sing it, it just doesnt sound right to me!!..I try to say it during the 3:00 hour.

This happens to me too!!! I thought it was only me, not that I am happy that it happens but it is comforting to know others have this difficulty too. It is strange but the thoughts of why do this prayer today do occassionly pop into my head and only through God’s grace do I get past those thoughts.
I have read a biography of St. Faustina and the story of her life and it has added much more meaning to the Chaplet. It is well worth your time to delve into her life.
 
Dear friends

Thank you for all of your comments and thoughts. I think I am going to ask my Priest if once a month we can have time before the Blessed Sacrament after a Mass to pray the Divine Mercy. For some reason I don’t know why I am drawn to this prayer.

My wife who was raised Catholic and left the Church to become a Jehovah’s Witness was converted by the Divine Mercy Devotion.

My wife and I had left the JWs and become Lutheran. I was attracted to the Catholic faith and shared this with my wife. A priest friend gave me some Rosary beads to give to her. She would not touch them…until I told her that she could use them to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet which was a prayer she fell in love with once she saw it on EWTN.

Eventually, my wife and I read the Diary of St. Faustina together (Twice). By the time we read it a second time, she was ready to come home.

She was reconciled to the Church at Easter Vigil 2003.

Then hang in there and persevere. If you are being plagued also with those thoughts, then this must be very powerful.

jschwehm testified that his wife was converted by this beautiful devotion. I am also hoping to bring about a conversion of a special loved-one through this daily as well as the daily Chaplet of Conversion.

I will not let the devil sway me with his lies of insignificance.

May God bring awesome blessings into the lives of all who promote and say this devotion.

I have just found the Chaplet of Divine Mercy in Song on EWTN radio at 3PM CST. What a great mediation and prayer. Does anyone who who sings the radio version? Also, where could I purchase a copy? Thanks for any help.
