I am one of those people who is always last, gets it wrong, takes a wrong turn, and blooms out of turn - not to mention late. I received the Holy Spirit of God in precisely this fashion. I got it last, took a wrong turn (or maybe a couple), bloomed out of turn and in the wrong place and bloomed way too late and out of season. Still I got the gift of the Holy Spirit because God is never last, never gets it wrong, never takes a wrong turn and never causes faith to bloom out of turn. In some people the gift of the Holy Spirit is like a BANG, in other’s it is silent and lingers in the background until the time for causing a big bang comes along.

I feel uncomfortable with hearing this termed receiving the Holy Spirit. What about baptism and confirmation? The way this is stated almost sounds like people are allowing the experience to usurp the role of two of the wonderful sacraments.
