Would you please be so kind as to elaborate on the specific verses in 1 Cor. to which you refer? Or at least a more detailed description of the episodes to which you refer? Citing an entire book (letter) of the Bible…leaves a bit too much room for inference, as to what you are actually saying.

Thank you.
Chapters 5 and 6. There may be more, but I think those are the main ones.

1st Cor. 9: 26-27
“[26] I therefore so run, not as at an uncertainty: I so fight, not as one beating the air: [27] But I chastise my body, and bring it into subjection: lest perhaps, when I have preached to others, I myself should become a castaway.”
Matthew 5:16
So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 16:27
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels: and then will he render to every man according to his works.
Romans 2: 4-7 “Knowest thou not, that the benignity of God leadeth thee to penance? But according to thy hardness and impenitent heart, thou treasurest up to thyself wrath, against the day of wrath, and revelation of the just judgment of God. Who will render to every man according to his works. To them indeed, who according to patience in good work, seek glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life”
Titus 1:16
They profess that they know God: but in their works they deny him; being abominable, and incredulous, and to every good work reprobate
James 2:26
For even as the body without the spirit is dead; so also faith without works is dead
Revelation 2:23
And I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts, and I will give to every one of you according to your works…
