There’s so many people in need right now; physically, financially, spiritually etc. It feels like a particularly important time to give to others through charities.

I’ve been going through charities the past few days, trying to figure out who to give to, but theres so many, with so many different intentions.

We all only have so much money, and i know it’s truly good to give to those in need.

Are there any charities you would recommend?

My heart is bigger than my pockets. Pray! Ask for guidance to pick a few charities that touch your heart or give $10.00 to $25.00 to a lot of charities. CAF needs $$, too.

Can you make trays for Caring For Friends (formerly Aid For Friends)?

Also, Goodwill is taking donations in some parts of the country, if you want to give away your stuff you don’t need but is still in good repair.

I’ve been giving what I can to our local food bank. They’ve been getting so many people in, who’ve never before had to worry about being able to feed their families.

It’s a very personal thing…depends on your country and location really. I’d say pray on it and read some if your local papers online and see where the need is. Listen for the Holy Spirits prompting. I always try stick to catholic charities so I know the proceeds aren’t going to fund abortion and other abominations. But when its feeding the homeless directly etc. then its usually safe. God bless

I agree it depends on your location. I was going to give to the food charities in my area, but from what I have read they are getting a ton of help. One reason is that the farmers in the area are needing to move their food that they can’t sell to restaurants, and many restaurants are doing special charity takeout nights for the foodbank to use up their inventory due to the loss of customers. So the local foodbank is only in need of stuff like cleaning products that I can’t really give because the store stock in the area is super low to the point where most things haven’t been available for days or weeks, and such things would need to be donated by someone who had access to a supplier or could make the product (like local distilleries are making hand sanitizer for first responders and charity groups).

Therefore I am likely to either seek out some churches/charities in poorer areas of my diocese or just give larger donations to my parishes and local monasteries for now.

I’m increasing my monthly giving to my parish. Our parish does a lot of outreach programs and has added services to help during the pandemic. I trust them to use the resources well and know they need it. I am also setting aside money to donate to whatever touches my heart at the time. I feel a lot of needs are more under the radar and may need support for unique causes. For instance, my alma mater reached out for assistance to help disadvantaged students. I struggled a lot during undergrad so it spoke to my heart. Something else may touch my heart the following month.
