Great question, nice to see someone ask something genuinely important on here. Unfortunately, i don’t think there’s an easy answer, i was researching this myself and found this website which attempts to make an objective judgementment on which charities make the best use of donations:
Ultimately i gave to the British Red Cross but honestly that was more on gut feel than hard evidence of a charity matching all my preferences, so please make up your own mind. In the end the risk that not all your donation is used well is not a logical reason not to withhold all of it.
