I know Charlemagne is a Blessed. But I don’t know why his first marriage was annuled and how come he had so many wives and concubines legally because Catholic law forbids polygamy. Can anyone explain it to me?
Very interesting article about his beatification. Apparently he is considered a Blessed because of a local cultus, but he has not been canonized as a Saint, although he was by an anti-Pope, which was later rejected. You have to read the whole article to get to the point that he is considered beatified.
