I think two things may be of concern here. The first is that we as Catholics (assuming you are sorry if I’m mistaken) are asked to abstain from all food other than water 1 hour before receiving the Eucharist. The other is that you may want to examine whether the gum is taking your focus away from the Mass subconsciously.
I think just brushing teeth before leaving the house may be a safer bet!
Also if you still feel unsure, just ask your priest! they’re there to help you!
Assuming you’re Catholic: anything except medication and water breaks the Communion fast, so if you’re chewing gum and consuming mints during Mass you cannot receive the Eucharist.
If you’re not Catholic then this is not a concern for you as you would not be receiving Communion anyway, but in your shoes I still wouldn’t chew gum or use mints during Mass.
