This year for my sixth grade CCD class, I want to assign each child a saint’s name – a saint who made his mark before the age of 20.

So far, I have only

Tarcisius
Agnes
Maria Goretti

and some of the companions of Charles Lwanga . . .

I’ll need about 16 of 'em.

How about:
St. John the Evangelist
St. Felicity and St Perpetua
St Bernadette
Blessed Jacinta and Francisco Marta

I suggest Ann Ball’s book Young Faces of Holiness.

John the Evangelist?

Ah: Jacinta & Francisco Marta! Thanks.

Saint Dominic Savio. Died at 15. I was just reading about the saints with my six year old last night.

Dominic Savio died at 15? I had no idea! Just googled him: he’ll be a perfect example.

Thank you VERY much.

John the Evangelist?
Yes, St. John, Apostle, author of the Gospel of John, brother of St. James.

He was aat the foot of the cross with St. Mary when he was only a youth-- hence his depiction in the Last Supper paintings as beardless.

St Aloysius Gonzaga is a good role model for young men, as is St John Berchmans. For girls Blessed Imelda Lambertini is one, and of course Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha.

You can decide for yourself. But she interceded on behalf of our youth group. And let us know by knocking at our door when we thanked her for saving our teens from serious injury due to a 3 car accident. We dedicated our teen club to her intercession when we first organized it nearly 13 years ago. 6 years ago, she helped us.
