It was called Today’s Special and I think it came on Nickalodean. It was set in a department store at night after closing and the dummies would come to life (one was called Jeff?) and there was this little mouse called Muffy. I loved this show! Does anyone remember any other details? And does anyone know where I might find it on VHS or DVD?
Thanks, Karen:)

As soon as I read “Today’s Special” I heard the theme song in my head, I totally forgot about that, it was crammed way back there… I totally remember it now! That was back in the Kaliope days… do you remember Kaliope? It was when Nickolodeon first came out. Then later in the afternoon they had “You Cant Do That On Television” I don’t remember all the words to Today’s Special…It’s todays special…having so much fun… ITs todays special welcome everyone…I know the melody and then at the end they yell “Todays special”

Do you know this one?

“Pinwheel pinwheel spinning around, look through my pinwhell and see what I found, Pinwheel Pinwhell burning and bright, Spin me good morning and spin me goodnight…Pinwheel pinwheel pinwheel pin! (then a little kid saying softly) Pinwheel.”

That was the theme song to Kaliope and it is stuck in the wasted brain cell section of my brain:D

I wasn’t that old in the 80’s, but I remember that too…gosh I had forgotten all about that. wow. 🙂

I was nine in 1980, perhaps too old to really be into it. I was more into adventure-type shows, like the 1960s Spiderman cartoon. I despised Pinwheel. It was on for five hours five days a week. I recall a green monstrosity named Ebeneezer who was a psychotic man’s Oscar the Grouch.

I was much more into the “Great Space Coaster” and “The Big Blue Marble.”

Ooo… OOO! Perfect. I remember way back when the cartoons I used to watch when I was reeeaaaaal young. “The Real Ghostbusters” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” “Transformers” “GI Joe” etc.

But there’s one… I remember I really, really, really liked it but I can’t remember the name. All I can remember was that it involved a special police squad fighting various criminals. And one of the police officer people had… this handcuff he’d shoot from his wrist that had a cable attached. His name was “Longarm” Any help’d be great.

Ooohh, I had totally forgotten about that! Wow! I knew there was a show that lasted a long time every morning, but couldn’t remember the name of it for anything. Wasn’t it set like mainly at someone’s house and it would show clips, short stories, cartoons and stuff? Wasn’t it stuff like Paddington Bear and Simon they showed? I can’t remember the people or the muppets too much.
