Quite possibly. Another perspective would be that their leaders can’t comprehend quality or truth in some things, be it human rights, religion, etc… In other words, maybe they are utterly clueless.

That’s communist Jesus for ya…upholding the rule of law. :roll_eyes: But strangely enough in this context He’s upholding Jewish Law not Roman Law, or to put it another way - religious law, not state law.

This can be a lesson for anyone who thinks that Jesus was a “communist” or a “socialist”, or by some warped extension…a “hippie”. :roll_eyes:

Agreed. The worst part is not the denial of His Mercy toward the adulteress, but the blasphemous claim that He confessed Himself a sinner and hypocritically stoned the woman anyway, after saying, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” If they had merely depicted Him as stoning the woman, they would at least be confessing that He is the Righteous Judge, who can condemn without fear because He is without sin, but here they make Him out to be a hypocrite.
 
But communists are by definition godless. And all communist regimes so far have been heavily dependent on lies and espionage.

It may be old and tired but that doesn’t make it less true.
 
Evidently the Chinese Communist Party does NOT regard Jesus as a Communist, or they would have portrayed him in a good light.
 
The CCP are real bastards. I feel like the world in general gives them a pass because of money. The NBA calls out racism and denounces the coach who supported Hong Kong. 3 years ago at the Chinese New Year Gala show they did entire comedic skits with chinese people in blackface and traditional african clothing. but did the NBA say anything about it then? Pfft. No, because they sold their souls for money.
 
The CCP has figured out something that the Soviets have not.

It figured out how to use greed against capitalist countries.

By using its own captive population as a source of cheap labor, it gave greedy Western corporations a means to make more profit. Now most of the world is feeling the grip of the CCP, who has now grown wealthy, thanks to the capitalist countries.

The CCP will now dominate the world and it will be paid for primarily by the West.

Maybe, maybe not. The USSR gradually became less brutal (relatively speaking) from its early years with Stalin to its twilight years under Gorbachev.

The CCP definitely has a huge problem though because its attempts to make religion obsolete haven’t worked at all. Large numbers of its affluent population don’t actually want to stay in China and in 15 years it is hitting the same sharp demographic collapse that hit Japan in the 1990s. If the CCP does anything extremely reckless it will probably happen before the middle of the century if it does happen.

I’m afraid that this reckless thing that the CCP might do is go to war.

Take the minds of the population from domestic problems to international problems. Make it so that China is under threat from other nations, notably, the US and Japan, and whip them up into an us vs. them situation. Plus China has a heavily skewed gender ratio, with a lot of military aged men who cannot find wives. A ready army.

It is already fighting skirmishes with India, another nation with a skewed gender ratio, composing mainly of military aged men.

I think “cliché” would be more accurate than “stereotype”. Evil Communists are frankly old hat at this point.
 
I agree. I live in Zhejiang with my Chinese wife and I can see the hyper patriotism and siege mentality is already being planted. If anybody here is a history lover think of the Franco-Prussian War. Napoleon III didn’t actually want to go to war but the common people were so whipped up into a patriotic frenzy over perceived insult to French honor by Prussia that they DEMANDED war. I can see the same sort of thing happening in China. Even if the CCP doesn’t want war they could be forced into it if the population that they indoctrinated with jingoist propaganda demands it.
 
The government is worried because Christianity is not only surviving, but thriving in China.

This is simply an act of desperation in my mind.
