There is only a few days until the CAF Apocalypse but I have been meaning to share with you all the insights I gleaned from talking to my father in law
and others about the U.S. election. The conversation went something like this…
FIL: Biden! (Thumbs Up)
Me: Why are you so happy? We both know you agree with Trump’s policies and values and you would never vote for Biden if you were American or if a Chinese version of Biden was running to be head of the CCP. Tell me who would you vote for?
FIL: …
Me: Come on, answer the question who would you vote for.
FIL: …
Me: …
FIL: Trump
Me: Why are you so happy then? ( I suddenly realized) Ah, I see. You know Biden is the bad choice for America. You are happy because America now has a weaker and possibly senile President. A rival country has been greatly weakened. Just like I would probably be happy if a spineless, american sympathizer became president of China.
FIL: (BIG SMILE) Yes, sorry, but also not sorry.
My father in law is always watching the news and talking about politics. so we have had many discussions. Even though he is VERY happy that Biden won the election he would be considered Center Right and most certainly vote Republican if he were American.
