Would it be a sin to choose a hotel or motel that you know has porn on their television for pay per view or whatever even if it is the only hotel or motel within a decent distance of where you are wanting to stay?
Only if you watch it. While it’s true that there are some hotels out there that do not pipe that garbage in, they are few and far between. If one can find a hotel that does not have “smut on demand,” then I think it would be a good idea to choose that one and let the management know why you chose their hotel.Would it be a sin to choose a hotel or motel that you know has porn on their television for pay per view or whatever even if it is the only hotel or motel within a decent distance of where you are wanting to stay?
There is no sin on your part just because the hotel makes this available.Would it be a sin to choose a hotel or motel that you know has porn on their television for pay per view or whatever even if it is the only hotel or motel within a decent distance of where you are wanting to stay?
Yes, I would definitely “vote with my feet” if I had the opportunity to do so. Thank you for your answer. There is no sin on your part just because the hotel makes this available.
You can “vote with your feet”, of course, but you can rest easy if your choices are limited.
Oh ok. I would have absolutely no plans of watching such filth. Thank you for your answer.Only if you watch it. Unmarried couples sleeping together might cause scandal but the sin comes in the act of fornication. As long as they don’t force you to share a room or watch, you’re OK…It is OK for gay couples to share a room. Being gay is not a sin. Homosexual acts are…The discipline not to eat meat on Friday’s has not been a sin for about 40 years. But what will you do if they allow sinful behavior on their premises? They may allow unmarried couples to sleep together or even…gasp…gay couples share a room! Do they offer bacon on Friday mornings for their complimentary breakfast? Horrors!
I’m quite well read in Catholic moral theology, thank you. My point was why worry about movies being shown in hotels when there are other things going on there as well. Straining at gnats while swallowing an elephant.Unmarried couples sleeping together might cause scandal but the sin comes in the act of fornication. May I humbly suggest you brush up on Catholic theology and moral teaching before you make fun of it, else you just look stupid.
Just an FYI, eating meat on Friday is still sinful UNLESS another form of penance is substituted. And that only changed in 1983, not 40 years ago.Unmarried couples sleeping together might cause scandal but the sin comes in the act of fornication.
