Nevertheless, you can’t fault the logic.

I love infallible impeccability, but sometimes it’s a burden to always be right. People start to become dependent on it. ;)😉

The Pope really should have the final say, but it was an old tradition for the faithful and clergy to “vote” the bishops into office. Now that couldn’t work anymore because of the heterodox but maybe there could be some kind of orthodoxy test where we can see just how faithful someone is to the magisterium. Then they could help nominate two or three worthy Priests, the Pope taking the final decision or overruling them altogether. Go Papal Supremacy! 👍
